Never been much of a golfer, hope to pick it up one day. For now my lack of patience and wretched softball influenced swing, leave me admiring the professionals instead of pursuing the hobby. With that said, my college soccer coach, always made golf analogies, because he is quite the golfer. He attempted to help fix my horrible kicking technique with golf metaphors. They stuck with me, and certain phrases still ring through my head as I approach the ball.
I found this house as I walked along the shore of Ocean Beach, what a front yard. A house replicating a ship, and a front yard replicating a putting green, can you say retirement dream for many?
"It can be. Golf asks you to deal with an ever changing series of challenges. The game does not care how hard you work or how much you want to succeed. The pitfalls can be right in front of you or completely hidden from view. Sometimes you fail or succeed because of something you have done or sheer dumb luck. The people at the top seem to struggle against themselves the same way you do, even though it looks to you like they have the world by the short hairs. The results are euphoric when you have prepared well and everything goes as planned. The results are devastating when everything falls apart despite your best efforts. Sounds a lot like life doesn't it?"
